Cookie Policy
Cookies, browser storage, and your choices on this website.
Effective date: October 13, 2026
What these technologies do
Cookies are small pieces of data a website or service can store in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. Browser caching stores copies of resources to help pages load and is different from an advertising or analytics tracker.
Current website features
The Institution’s public page code does not set cookies or use local storage or session storage. First-party visitor-location analytics runs on the server and stores aggregate daily page-view counts by approximate country, state or region, city, and page; it does not set analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. See the Privacy Policy for collection, retention, and opt-out details.
The explorer stores its current selection in the page URL, while animation and menu states are held in memory. The private owner dashboard uses the hosting platform’s ChatGPT sign-in; authentication may involve platform-managed cookies. Public readers do not need to sign in.
Hosting and security services
The hosting platform and its delivery or security services may use cookies or similar mechanisms to route requests, protect the service, or manage platform access. These are separate from the Institution’s page features. Their presence can depend on the domain, the request, and whether you interact with a platform sign-in or security check.
We have not confirmed a complete inventory of platform-managed cookie names or lifetimes. This notice therefore does not claim that every visit is entirely cookie-free. You can inspect the cookies stored for the domain through your browser’s site-data settings.
Your browser controls
You can inspect, block, or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking technical cookies may affect platform sign-in or security checks. Clearing browser data does not delete emails you have sent to the Institution.
Enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to exclude your requests from the Institution’s aggregate visitor-location analytics. This feature adds no analytics or advertising cookies. If optional tracking features are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls must be updated before activation.
External websites and privacy requests
Links to SSRN, source articles, and other external sites open services with their own cookie practices. Their cookies are governed by their notices. For the Institution’s handling of correspondence and website information, read our Privacy Policy.
Questions may be sent to info@therimerinstitution.org. Changes to this policy will be published here with an updated date.
