Terms of Use

Reading, citing, sharing, and using the Institution’s website and published materials.

Effective date: September 12, 2026

Scope

These Terms of Use apply to the public website and materials made available through it. Read them with our Terms and Conditions. Specific licenses attached to a publication or third-party asset take precedence for that material.

Reading, citation, and sharing

You may browse the website, link to its public pages, and download materials offered for download for personal study and research. When citing or quoting our work, identify the author or The Rimer Institution as appropriate, the publication title and date, and a link to the source. Preserve the context and relevant evidence limitations.

Nothing here restricts fair use, fair dealing, quotation, criticism, or other uses permitted by applicable law. For republication, translation, adaptation, distribution of substantial portions, or commercial licensing beyond an existing license or legal exception, contact us for permission.

Intellectual property and identity

Copyright and other rights in the Institution’s original writing, designs, and branding remain with their respective rights holders. Public access does not transfer ownership. Third-party photographs, fonts, flags, quotations, and other materials remain subject to their own rights and licenses.

Do not use the Institution’s name or logo to imply endorsement, certification, partnership, or authorship that has not been authorized. Do not present an altered publication or an independently produced assessment as an official Institution output.

Responsible access

Do not use the site to distribute malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, evade access controls, impersonate others, or interfere with availability. Automated access must respect applicable law and must not overload the service or bypass technical restrictions. These rules do not prevent ordinary search indexing or lawful research.

Correspondence and submissions

Send only material you are entitled to share. Ordinary email is not a secure submission channel for confidential research records, identity documents, or sensitive personal information. Discuss any confidentiality requirements with us before sending such material.

Sending correspondence does not transfer ownership of your work or grant us a general publication license. We may review it and use it to respond to your inquiry, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Corrections, permissions, and access concerns

For a factual correction, provide the page address, the relevant passage, and supporting sources. For a rights concern, identify the material, your connection to the rights holder, and the requested action. Contact info@therimerinstitution.org. We may restrict access used to harm the site or infringe others’ rights, subject to applicable law.

Updates

We will post revisions here with an updated date. Changes do not remove permissions already granted under a separate license or agreement.
